My first afternoon tea experience

My first afternoon tea experience

A while back, some friends and I decided to go on a little afternoon tea trip. Having never experienced afternoon tea, and wanting to for many years before, I was so excited. And it didn't disappoint! Here are 5 things I learned from my first experience.

1) My eyes are definitely bigger than my belly. You may think that it's a tiny portion but trust me the endless sandwiches, scones and cake are a challenge even when sharing. Never eat before going...

2) I don't like tea. Not being much of a hot drink fan, I thought if I tried a flavour tea I might give myself half a chance, but I think I choose the worst option. And even after trying my friends picks I still wasn't swayed. Just water for me next time.

3) Always dress for the occasion. It's always nice to dress up for any occasion and turning up to a fancy house in my best frock certainly made me feel the part. (You can see my outfit for the day here)

4) Scones with cream and jam are my new favourite thing. Period.

5) Always go with a bunch of girlfriends, I couldn't think of a better way to spend time than by eating ourselves into oblivion together <3

How to wear a pink bucket bag

How to wear pink bucket bag

I know what you're all thinking, just look at that pink bag!

Having seen numerous bloggers with their pink Mansur Gavriel bucket bags I was dying to buy one but just couldn't justify the price tag. But after a Saturday morning stroll around the shops in one of my local towns, I stumbled across a brand I hadn't seen before called Katie Loxton. In amongst the display of clutch bags and candles was the solution to my problem. At a fraction of the price, but still great quality leather and design, I was easily persuaded to break my spending ban there and then (thanks Sean) and I'm so happy I did. I can't recommend Katie Loxton enough. I've had my eye on their perfect pouches for a while and I'm sure I'll be making another purchase very soon.

I paired my new bag with another new love in my life, this floral Topshop midi dress which is probably the prettiest item of clothing that I own. Although the outfit was starting to feel a little bit too girly for my liking so I threw on my leather jacket and black boots for safe measure. Balance is key people.

Until next time...
