I wanna go to the seaside...

There is something about the British seaside. So when the weather comes around you have to make the most of it. Last Friday, Sean and me had a very spontaneous night away in Bournemouth. We didn't leave until the afternoon and got there around 4ish. Thinking we had all evening to soak up some rays we went to a bar to get some food. Oh how wrong were we. Just our luck, and as you can probably tell from my slightly disheveled look, it started pouring with rain! It didn't last too long but it was enough to ruin our chances of lying on the beach. Hey ho, we still got to watch the fireworks...which BTW is a must see if you live near by! Next time I go to the seaside I think I'll come prepared with a raincoat, because this outfit was definitely not the most appropriate...

DIY CABOCHON NECKLACE

DIY CABOCHON NECKLACE

You'll need

20mm Round Silver Pendant Blank
20mm Round High Domed Cabochon
E6000 Glue
Silver Plated Necklace in the Length of your Choice
Silver Plated Snap Bail
Pressed Flower no bigger than 20mm
Tweezers
Cocktail Stick

Method

1) Use the cocktail stick to spread a tiny bit of glue in the middle of the pendant blank
2) Using tweezers, pick up one of your dried flowers and place it onto the pendant blank
3) Apply a small amount of glue around the edge of the dome and place it into the pendant blank. Wipe away any excess glue and leave it to dry
4) Secure the snap bail to the pendant blank and slide onto the chain.

It's as easy as that! And the great thing about it is you can make this in so many different ways. How about using a really long chain and layering it up with smaller necklaces? Or changing the flowers to some pretty printed paper? There's so many options with this one so have fun experimenting!

Don't forget to tweet me a picture if you make this using the hashtag #clairmakes

MARSHMALLOW AND CHOCOLATE CHIP FLAPJACKS

MARSHMALLOW AND CHOCOLATE CHIP FLAPJACKS RECIPE

Sometimes (or if your me, a little bit more than sometimes) you just need a little sugary treat to get you past the 3.00pm slump. These gooey flapjacks are the perfect answer. They are so easy to make that they've become my go to snack of choice and what makes them so great is you can put anything you want in them! I've chosen marshmallows and chocolate chips because I've got a bit of a sweet tooth but how about adding some cherries? Heres how you can do them too...

Time to Change

Stepping out of my comfort zone with clothes isn't something I do very often. I buy lovely clothes and then pair them in the same old way making. T-shirts always go with shorts and flip flops in the summer, jeans and jumpers paired in the winter and if one item is colourful the other HAS to be neutral. Enough is enough. I'm determined to change the way I style my clothes. I want to come out of my shell with my style and I feel this look is doing just that for me.

 Silky

I really love this jumpsuit. I got it for Christmas and up until now I had only worn it a handful of times at parties. I really wanted to make better use of such a beautiful piece of clothing and start wearing it more often so this time I paired it with a simple white T-shirt and my new favourite sliders from H&M. Simple and easy. Why didn't I think of this before?

On Another Note...

I'm really looking forward to getting stuck back into this blog. I haven't posted since January because I've been busy with my final year at uni and I couldn't fit it all in. But now I'm finished, it's time to get back to it. I've had a change of name and a redesign and I'm excited for all the posts I have planned.

Thanks for reading
