Sometimes (or if your me, a little bit more than sometimes) you just need a little sugary treat to get you past the 3.00pm slump. These gooey flapjacks are the perfect answer. They are so easy to make that they've become my go to snack of choice and what makes them so great is you can put anything you want in them! I've chosen marshmallows and chocolate chips because I've got a bit of a sweet tooth but how about adding some cherries? Heres how you can do them too...
250g Porridge Oats
125g Brown Sugar
2-3 tbsps Golden Syrup (3 if you want them nice and gooey!)
100g Chocolate chips
50g Mini Marshmallows
1) Measure out all of your ingredients and place them in a food processor. Lightly pulse until it is fully mixed but be careful not to other mix, we want those oats to keep their texture.
2) Grease a square baking tin well with some butter. When I first tried this I didn't grease as much as I should have done and they got stuck when I tried to take them out! Now pour the mixture in.
3) Now this is really important, use the back of a spoon to press the mixture together, paying particular attention to the corners. Make sure the mixture is totally flat and then score the mixture into 12 squares.
4) Pop it in an oven oven 180 and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown
Don't forget to let me know by tweeting me if you give them a go. I'd love to see pictures!
Have fun with them
