Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

My favourite part of any make-up look is definitely lipstick, occasionally lipgloss although I don't like how sticky lipgloss can be. When your on a night out and it's windy the last thing you want is for your hair to be sticking to your lips. Not a good look... I'm a sucker for lipstick and probably have far to many that are the same colour or shade. That being said, I thought I would share with you my top 5 MAC lipsticks in my collection.

I'm not usually a fan of matte lipsticks, well anything matte, I like things to be shiny, glossy and SPARKLY :) But there is the rare occasion I make an exception and Russian Red is definitely one of those occasions. To me, this is the perfect red and almost always completes my going out look.

Part of the Love Lace collection, Intricate is an extremely sheer frosty purply brown colour. Even with lots of layers in the swatch, this is about as much colour as you will get from Intricate. But I like this. it means you can create a subtle look or even pair it with your favourite matte lipstick to spice it up.

Hot Gossip is another one I reach to quite regularly if I want to spice up my everyday look. Hot Gossip is a slightly 'classier' pink and because it is a creme sheen, it is lovely and creamy and slightly hydrating.

Politely Pink is probably my most reached to lipstick. It is certainly a staple part of my everyday routine. For me it is the perfect pink and I love the finish of lustre lipsticks :)

Love Goddess is a relatively new favourite of mine. It is a satin lipstick that came from the Marilyn Monroe collection. It is opaque in colour and apples smoothly and evenly. I find it to be long lasting and the packaging with a picture of Marilyn Monroe on the front is lovely.

Label Love: Kee Boutique

This weeks label love is an independent label I found on ASOS Marketplace, a great place to go if your looking for something unique or just a little bit different from the high street shops. Kee Boutique specialises in vintage and handmade items made from delicate and girly fabrics with a retro edge.  I was pulled in by the range of effortless feminine styles and subdued pastel shades which is my style down to a T.

My top pick of the collection is this beautiful mint green skirt with scalloped edging. I think the colour would be perfect for spring/summer and would look great with a mixture of different tops. But I do like the one the model is wearing. In fact, can I just have the whole outfit? Hair included.

And just because I'm greedy I also love this 60s style lace skater dress. I'm a huge fan of skater dresses because I think they are the perfect everyday look and don't need to be dressed up to look nice. Lace is always popular in the summer so this dress combines my two favourite things. Win.

You can but Kee Boutique from ASOS Marketplace or directly from their website

Review: Garnier Simply Essentials Make-Up Remover

I saw a friend of mine using the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Make-Up Remover to remove her make-up one day, and I thought hmm could this be better than the ever so convenient make-up remover wipes? I often find that make-up wipes don't quite remove all of my mascara (perhaps its just the brands I've used) but I always seem to wake up in the morning with panda eyes! Not a good look when your staying round your boyfriends...

I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin, I pretty much use whatever I want on my face without any problems, but I do like to be a bit more careful when it comes to my eyes. The Garnier 2 in 1 Make-Up Remover is great because it is contains no perfume, no alcohol and you don't need to rub your eyes like mad to get your make-up off. Excellent.

To use, simply pour onto a cotton pad and wipe over face. I like to do this in circular motions because I feel like I'm really getting everything off. Whether this is true I have no idea, but it works for me :)

The Good
It really does do what it says on the tin. It removes ALL of my make-up, even stubborn waterproof mascara which can be quite tricky at times and it does it without irritating my eyes. The picture below shows me after using it, totally naked right there guys! The other picture is a cotton pad that i have wiped just once over my face showing you how effective this product is. Or maybe that I put too much make-up on. Hmmm....

The Bad

Being an oil based product, it can leave your skin feeling slightly oil which is fine if you have dry skin like mine and dream of a bit of moisture in your skin. But its not so good if you already have oily skin and want to avoid putting even more oil into your skin.
The only other issue I have with this product is the lid. I don't know if I just have a dodgy bottle but for some reason the lid doesn't shut properly, so when I go to give it a good shake to mix it up, I get showered with make-up remover.

Overall Thoughts
I definitely think I would buy this product again in the future. I would like to try a few different liquid make-up removers to see how it holds up in comparison but for £2.99 for a bottle that lasts you a lot longer than make-up wipes I have no serious complaints :)

Packaging   -   2 / 5
Performance  -  5 / 5
Oilyness       -  4 / 5
Value for Money - 5 / 5
Overall   4 / 5

What do you guys think of the product? Do you have any more recommendations for me?

Label Love: Brit-Stitch

Hi guys!

Recently I've been looking for lots of new blogs to read and one of my new favourites is Love Cloth. Kim is a fashion and beauty blogger but mainly does fashion related 'outfit of the day' style posts. She's really great, and has some very inspiring outfits!

Anyway moving on from my love of 'Love Cloth' I have now developed a total obsession with Brit-Stitch, after seeing one of their bags on Kim's blog. Brit-Stitch is is a producer of leather goods including some extremely beautiful handbags which come in an array of different colours to suit every look. They remind me very much of 'the Cambridge Satchel Company', you know from the Google Chrome Advert, who are totally on my wish list too.

The picture below is a known as  the 'Half-Pint Should Bag' in Poppy Red and retails for £70. I know ouch. But we can all be naughty sometimes can't we? And why not for something that will last you for a very long time. Not that I need anymore persuading.

You can by Brit-Stitch products directly or can also be bought from TheHut.com who also have a 15% off.

BathVA Vintage Fashion Fair

Yesterday, me and my friend decided to take advantage of one of the events during Bath in Fashion 2013. Unfortunately I missed most of the events because I was away so I was very excited. Having never been to a vintage fashion fair before, I didn't really know what to expect. But I definitely wasn't disappointed!

When we first walked into Green Park Station we entered a room which was full of different style hats and scarves. As we walked in further there was a lot more than hats and scarves. Racks and racks of clothes, tables of costume jewellery and even antique furniture. It was fascinating looking around at all the items, there were so many great bargains to be found! Everyone was really in the vintage spirit, there was 1950s styled music being played, people were trying on clothes and there was even people having their hair done in retro styles. Something I was very tempted to have done to!

I really enjoyed looking at all the costume jewellery, so many great finds with character and history!

My favourite thing to look for was these vintage quilts. The one on the top of this pile was beautiful and was reasonably priced at £40. But unfortunately it doesn't match my bedroom, darn!

The fair was also a really good source for vintage fabric. There was a wide range of beautiful cotton fabrics with an array of patterns which would make beautiful skirts and dresses.

I thoroughly enjoyed going to the Vintage Fashion Fair and I must say I'm totally converted! I'll be looking out for more events like this in my area in the future.

Trend Alert: Denim

With summer around the corner now is the perfect time to start investing in some statement pieces that will get you through the season. One of the key trends..denim! I love denim, there is nothing better than  a cute floral dress with a little denim jacket or waistcoat.

One particular piece that has caught my eye is this little denim playsuit complete with pearl peter pan collar from Miss Selfridge. The open back and the ruching at the waist give make this the perfect go to 'girl next door' summer outfit. I think this would look great with a pair of sandals and a tan satchel.

Whats your top denim picks this summer?
